Most of the week this studio ships software. Permits. Missed-call text-backs. Dealership desks.
Some weeks I still want to put my hands on brass.
Asbury Light Works is the physical side of the studio: a small number of custom lighting commissions built in Asbury Park. Unlacquered brass that patinas. Cast-iron bases. Hardwood mounts from reclaimed New Jersey timber. Each fixture is hand-wired, safety tested, and stamped with a serial badge.
It is not a catalog. It is not a drop-shipped "industrial" lamp from a warehouse in Shenzhen. If you want one, we talk, we measure the room, and we build it.
What you actually get
- Solid brass fittings, left unlacquered so they age
- Heavy bases, not hollow zinc
- Hand-planed hardwood mounts, oil-rubbed
- Wiring and a test, not a hope and a listing photo
I will not sell you a fake "styling engine" or a room-scan app that doesn't exist. If a fixture needs a sketch, I sketch it. If the drop length is wrong, we change it before it ships.
Who it's for
A cafe on Cookman. A restored house in Fair Haven. A bungalow that should not have a plastic dome in the middle of the ceiling.
Residential and small commercial, Monmouth and Ocean counties. Walk-in theater is not the model. Contact the studio with the room, the ceiling height, and the budget range. If it's a fit, we quote. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too.
Software still pays the lights. Light Works is the thing I build so the studio doesn't forget what "made here" feels like in your hand.
