FAQ

Common Questions.

What trades does PermitPilot support?

Currently supporting general construction, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC permit types under the New Jersey UCC. Additional trade types are added based on pilot participant needs.

Which NJ municipalities are supported?

Monmouth County municipalities are the initial focus — Asbury Park, Ocean Township, Neptune, Long Branch, Red Bank, Wall Township, Freehold, Tinton Falls, Eatontown, and surrounding areas. New towns are added weekly during the pilot. Your town not listed? Pilot participants get priority for custom templates.

Is this cloud-based? Do I need to install anything?

Yes, PermitPilot is a web application — no installation required. Works on any device with a browser. Your contractor profiles, license records, and insurance certificates are stored securely in your account.

What does the pilot cost?

The pilot is free during the development phase. Pilot participants receive discounted pricing when PermitPilot launches commercially — locked-in rates for the first 12 months. No commitment, cancel anytime.

How long does it take to generate a packet?

About two minutes for a standard packet once your contractor profile is set up. First-time setup takes longer because you'll enter your license and insurance details, but after that it's one job entry → one complete packet.

Can I customize the forms?

Yes. The generated documents are editable before submission. You can add notes, adjust details, or attach supplementary materials. We follow each municipality's template, but you always have final control.
